After the Bath: Drowning Her Sorrows

This sweet little muscovy had a brand new family last Friday, 5 adorable babies. Sunday night she and her new family were attacked by a predator. Two babies went missing....one was found struggling for life with a broken neck....two I managed to rescue. Mama was nowhere to be seen. One precious life was buried that night and two were made comfy in a box for the night to hopefully return to their mama the next morning.

The babies were reunited with mama the next morning as planned, but when she returned late afternoon she had no family with her.

This pic was taken earlier this morning. She came for food and drink and her morning bath. Here she is standing fully upright and whipping those wings to shake off the water! Her wings are going so fast they are nothing but blur....LOL
