E is for....

Empty shell of a church - this is Stanley Royd Chapel which was burnt down in an arson attack in 2012. It is now in the process of being demolished. In spite of the nice weather today we didn't manage to get out anywhere other than shops again! Even I'm fed up of shopping at the moment! So I decided to get a record of the church before it disappears completely.

Didn't really know much about it so had a quick look on line -
St Faith’s church of the former Stanley Royd hospital St Faith’s church was built in 1861 and is a grade II listed building. For many years it was a place of rest and contemplation for inmates and staff at the asylum, later the hospital. It was closed in 1996

It is such a shame, and the second magnificent church to be demolished this year within a couple of miles.
