Field of Poppies

The friends of St Ives have planted a field of poppies to commemorate the 100 years since the outbreak of the first world war. Sadly non of the poppies have germinated, I guess it has been too dry this summer, but the stone marking this field was dedicated today at a short service at which I played the last post. The British Legion had scattered some paper poppies to make it look more realistic and the they provided this wonderful collage of a poppy made out of poppies.
