NYC baubles ...

Looking like sparkling silver Faberge eggs, or a very futuristic art installation, this is actually a view over the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The shiny baubles are the sludge digesters, churning through all of Manhattan's sewerage on a daily basis.

At least they look pretty from the outside.
