A new bird in the garden?

I was preparing cheese on toast when I decided to nip into the hide to see what birds were around. Took a few pics when I noticed a bird sitting on the fence which looked new to my garden. Unfortunately it was behind a shrub and I could not get a clear view. What is it I ask the experts?

I retreated to the lounge and crept towards the patio doors. It was still there. Quickly I took a couple in full view before it flew off. The results seem good enough to post so here it is.

It's been a lovely recuperative weekend. I have read over half of my book, watched TV, slept well and stayed away from work assignments. I feel rested and refreshed. I am ready to take on the world again.

By the way, my cheese on toast became ex-cheese on toast as its remains were so cremated as to be beyond resuscitation. What we do for our blips!
