Life in the sloe lane...

Why is it that there are plenty of sloes in the hedgerows at this time of year, but never any unopened bottles of gin to accompany them?

We had a 3 hour ramble around Cockermouth, Papcastle and Broughton this morning. Chloe is asleep now!
