If you can't beat them...

Friday 3 October 2014: Slateford Aqueduct.

The second day of our flying visit to Katkatkat in Edinburgh. Not an early start as we were up late looking at her shots from South Africa (and we didn't finish). The first job was to run her to the supermarket to stock up on food having only arrived back in the country on Wednesday.

On the way back we stopped at the Water of Leith visitors centre, blip hunting. It was raining so we didn't go far, but the juxtaposition of the viaduct and the aqueduct caught my eye. The aqueduct is the closest to us and is on the Union Canal.

The canal was originally built to bring coal and other minerals into Edinburgh and was opened in 1822. It fell into disuse in 1930 and has been restored in modern times being completed for the millennium.

Then after a good lunch in Morningside we had another session with Katkatkat and her holiday shots, managing to see them all before we set of down for evening visiting CC's Mum in Carlilse Hospital.
