The house
Our last day of holiday, and we spent it much like all the others - lazing around, not doing too much, with a final expedition out for some lunch at a local cafe. Alex and I were heading back on the Tuesday night, while the others stayed until Wednesday, so we pottered around doing some cleaning and packing, and I tried to solve just a couple more clues from Sunday's crossword. I got one.
And then it was time to head off to the airport. Fun fact, the runway at Coolangatta runs across the NSW/Qld border! I hate to think of the bureaucracy that involved. We had a tight turnaround in Melbourne, and our first flight was a little late in departing. Ever conscientious I mentioned this to the flight attendant - "Umm, we're now meant to be landing at almost the same time as our next flight is leaving..." - and she whisked away to find out the facts. "Not to worry, they'll hold the plane for you!" And so they did. She escorted us off that plane, with much hue and cry - "These girls need to get to Hobart, their plane is waiting, please let them through!" and we dashed down to the next gate where our plane was patiently waiting. After a weekend of doing absolutely nothing, it was all terribly exciting ;)
And that's that. I came back all raring to get back into work, with a little bit of tan perhaps, and a few more novels conquered. Thanks everyone for the good time, we must do it again!
