Easter Island look a like

Revisited a childhood playground today- the rocks in the cut at Kaiteriteri Beach. Blipped rock pools, seagulls, granite faces but it was the Easter Island look a like that took my eye. Trouble is, I don't remember it being there all those years ago. Could it have been formed in the intervening years? I thought it took centuries for structures like this to be moulded from the rock and I'm not quite that old.
