The time has come round again for my old MGF to try and pass its MOT so this morning I left it in the hands of Chic Doig to get it tested and fix the bits of it that will inevitably fail the test.

I have kept an account of the money I have spent on this car since I bought it and it amounts to more than I paid for it. Chic is the one who has benefitted most from this car since he has replaced most of it over the years I've had it. That's why he looks pleased to see me every time I turn up at his garage door.

I should have known better than to buy a car made by the British Leyland/Rover Group
