This little chap must have jumped a fair distance to get up to the balcony rail!

He was fascinating to watch! I could hear the noise he was making and always thought it was caused by them rubbing their legs together! He wasn't moving but the sound was very clear!

Philip and I used to love listening to the crickets at night - it was a sound that always brought back memories of French holidays. I think this may be a grasshopper rather than a cricket though - but I am in no way an expert...
