Closing Time

Woolworth? Open Sundays? I don't think so.

I read something over the last few days that pubs are closing down at the rate of 38 a day, or was it 38 a week. Or had 38% closed. Summit like that anyway.

So, this evening we visited what looked to be a fine example of the Olde Worlde British pub. A pub has stood on this site since the days of Ethelred the Unready, or Queen Anne...or summit.

We found a seat beside the Olde Worlde Stove (that actually was a fake fire; on closer inspection it was all done with faux smoke and mirrors), ordered our home made burger and hand cut chips (yeah, right). And then realised why our seat had been vacant. We were underneath the speaker. It took several pleas before they eventually agreed to turn the music off.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to listen to this or this at FULL VOLUME while I am trying to have a natter with an old pal.
