St Catherine's College.

St Catherine's college, Trumpington Street, Cambridge was founded in 1437 by Robert Woodlark and received the Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1475. It was largely rebuilt in the 17th century. The college originally consisted of only a Master and two Fellows and it was not until the 16th century that undergraduates were admitted. Prince Albert was Chancellor of the University and he and Queen Victoria along with the Duke of Wellington, who was also in the Royal party, attended a banquet here. Usually when I pass by, it is closed to visitors but today, although still closed, the gate was open so I just walked in trying to look as if I was supposed to be there. I would like to go again sometime to see the gardens and chapel.
