Physalis, or Chinese Lantern

This is the bud and fruit of a physalis plant, inside is a delicious sweet fruit. It is commonly called a Chinese lantern, because of the way the bud hangs downwards in the style of a Chinese Lantern!
This one grew wild from seed spread from some I grew in my polytunnel last year, tucked away in a corner, hidden behind my enormous tomato plants, which I removed today.I discovered the Physalis heads, so brought them indoors to photograph for my mono Blip today!
