Grumpy Fish!

Not surprising that this turbot looks grumpy. We bought it at our local Wolvercote market this morning, and propose to cook and eat it! We are not grumpy, despite the significant cost of this wonder.

According to the vendor, it was caught the previous evening off Selsey in Sussex (not far from where I and my wife were born and went to school), The fish seemed fresh enough to fit that history.

This is a very tasty fish indeed. Our portion of it today was simply cooked wrapped in foil in the oven. Texture firm, flavour fine. There's a lot left over, which will make several meals (prepared in creamy sauces, for example) in the days ahead.
