Distraction

I was talking to a colleague about
work stuff, or rather he was talking to me
on and on.. clients not paying on time, the contract says, etc..
I just kept staring out the window at this nouveau retirement home
It made me laugh how I felt dizzy looking at it
imagining myself elderly and living on the top floor that curves up toward the sky
eventually it became obvious that I had completely tuned him out..
Now, I've been added to his grand list of daily complaints :(
