A True Duck Dynasty

Today, I visted Stoyer’s Dam. Stoyer’s is a lake that is inhabited by many waterfowl. Stoyer’s Dam is also a good place to go fishing in the spring. This year at Stoyer’s, 6 baby swans were hatched. 5 of the baby swans were relocated to other dams as well as farms within the area. Whenever we are in the vicinity, my dad always takes us to visit Stoyer’s Dam. His favorite thing to do there is quack, yes I said quack, at every single duck he sees. I admit, I also have a habit of occasionally quacking at the ducks. However, I am not near as crazy about it as him. The longest I have ever timed him quacking at all the ducks, was a record breaking 2 hours and 24 minutes straight. These are just a few of the ducks we saw today at Stoyer’s. The black and white birds were my favorite because every time I quacked to them, they quacked back at me! A few years ago, my dad and his “man bff” were at Stoyer’s Dam to visit the waterfowl. Throughout the course of 3 hours, my dad and his friend had coaxed 8 ducks into their arms! Visiting Stoyer’s Dam with my dad is always an eventful time.
