Sullivan's Creek 1
Sullivan's Creek runs through the ANU campus from north to south, finally emptying into Lake Burley Griffin. The creek runs in a large channel but usually only fills the smaller creek bed (man-made) shown here. The whole watercourse, at least during its wandering through ANU has been artifically constructed with proper retaining walls and the smaller bed you see in this photo. When I first came to Canberra 20 years ago, the waterfourse was completely natural. Over the last decade its become the more artifical thing you see here - but at least it hasn't been straightened, or filled in or diverted underground.
When it rains it takes very little time for the larger channel to fill with water and the small creek you see in this photo becomes a raging torrent. There is rain forecast for the coming weekend so if it happesns I'll blip a photo of the much larger stream it can become.
Some post processing to sharpen and up the color temp.
