Perceiving Ordinary Magic
This morning, for the first time in many months, I witnessed the sunrise. There was also a distinct nip in the crystal clear air, to reinforce the fact that summer has finally surrendered to autumn. It had that crispness that you forget exists during the middle part of the year and you suddenly realise that you've missed it. The light was also different. More intense somehow, a colder, starker light - if that makes any sense at all. It was the kind of light which seems to add an extra element to our visual perception, giving the world more than just three dimensions. On such mornings the most ordinary of things become suffused with a numinous quality. Look and there is magic everywhere. This blip is a celebration of that experience.
