Now, as I see it......

Houghton House

I met up with an old friend and colleague today who is also a keen photographer. We visited Houghton House in Bedfordshire which was built as a summer house in 1615 but largely dismantled in the 18th Century. Apparently it is reputed to be the inspiration for the 'House Beautiful' in John Bunyan's 'Pilgrims Progress'. The house was built on the edge of a ridge so on a clear day the views across Bedfordshire are magnificent; unfortunately today was rather overcast and murky so we could not do full justice to the view. I've noticed a couple of Blips from others for 'Derelict Thursday' and although I've not entered that particular challenge, if I had, I think this could be a suitable entry!

I know there has been a bit of discussion for a 'Blipmeet' at Houghton House sometime soon. I can definitely recommend it - plenty of shots to be taken and I can also recommend an excellent pub lunch only a few miles away!
