Sweet October Afternoon @ Sea

Promptly at the first alarm ringtone, I was out of my dream and the bed. The dream is forgotten now. The impression of walking to the kitchen to make tea, is still there. Last evening we had seen a TV-movie on the notorious-famous Odenwald-Schule with its tragic history of sexual abuse of minor pupils by teachers. The program was followed by a discussion afterwards. Quite heavy stuff for ending our long travelling day. So, by getting up early I could catch up writing my Journal.

Then, though under a black drizzling sky, I cycled to the beach to meet with Mischa. She was already there, making her morning seaside walk. And I wanted to have my early salty dive. It was high tide. Which means that you have to wade far before a dive does not hit the sandy bottom. Refreshed as I was I had to dry off quickly under the drizzle. Which is indeed a bit funny. Still half wet you put on your moisted clothes, waiting to see someone coming nearer who looks like Mischa.

And there she was, also a bit wet and sniffy. But fortunately it stopped raining for a short while. Long enough for us to cycle back to our neighbourhood, where it started to rain again. Indoors hot tea and shower prevented me from catching a cold. And this feeling of a good condition, transforms me into a classical beach-guest after his daily “Balneotherapy”. And even more, in the afternoon the sun reappeared. So, again I went to sea to enjoy the last warmth of the day. And to dive again! We, the Zanderlings among the beach walkers know to catch the best sunrays of October. Of course the water temperature is still 19C. Delicious!
