Happy Harvest

Filling in for the vicar today at St Mary's Shenfield School Harvest Service. The church was packed, standing room only. The children presented themes of thankfulness, goodness, generosity, hunger & hope & I finished by handing out homework to children, staff & parents; to say thank you 10 times today, once for every digit. Perhaps to God, perhaps to each other, to parents, friends, teachers ...... but to show their gratitude. Every good gift comes from above.

It was great fun. And then this evening will be the third of 6 sessions in Clacton. What could church look like for children? Time to be creative.
