Stalking the Kingfisher.....

Arrows point to my extraordinary detailed and clear belted Kingfisher capture:).....and here's how to do the same...

Decide NOT to take your larger camera and your long zoom....decide that taking the hooligans, and bringing along a friends and going walking at the country dog park and picking up poops along the way could be an excellent excuse to choose the smaller camera with hardly any zoom...and believe that you never see the kingfishers so you won't today!

We walked all around the meadows and then went down to the river and sat on two chairs that permanently rust there. The hooligans chased each other spewing sand and water on us.....and then amidst there shenanigans I saw it....the holy grail of water birds....the belted Kingfisher flying across from me...teasing me and then landing on a branch across the river from us.....I yelled a couple choice words out (WTF) and my lovely friend of 83 said "What Clare? What's wrong? I said "he's right there! the Kingfisher and I've not got my big camera and lens."..(more cursing)...I did take this one minus the black arrows just in case.

So the next step is after you download your extraordinary detailed National Geographic winner shot of him is you crop it and show someone and point to it---like I did to Big R and he said "I can't see it". Then you scream and print it out and draw arrows to it and retake the pic and post on blip and go to bed satisfied that you savored each moment of watching this glorious bird in flight and on the branch....that you didn't fret about the lack of your Nikon and zoom lens and you stayed "in the moment" with the bird.

Happy Hump Day and Good Night
