The Story Behind The Hat

I took this photo in a pawn shop with a lens they had for sale. My daughter-in-law gave me a Canon EOS 450D (Rebel xis in USA) since she thought it was broken, and she got a newer model. She told me the Tamron zoom lens on it was broken which is true. I managed a couple of shots with the Tamron with everything on Manual, but it's clearly not working properly. I went to the pawn shop (there are no camera shops without my driving an hour to a larger town) to see if they had a used lens to try and to make sure the problem was with the Tamron lens and not the camera body. My daughter-in-law thought the camera was broken, but I am certain she never took a photo on any setting other than Auto. As you can see the used Canon lens worked. I took this shot (and 2 more) quickly on AF and Auto settings, and I was excited everything worked fine. I wasn't focused on the best photo, just seeing if I could take a photo. I previously had a Pentax DSLR with several lens, but I sold the outfit and begin using my Sony and Canon bridge/super zoom cameras and my Canon G11. Anyway, I am excited to see if I can find a good used Canon lens for this one. The camera only has 10,109 shutter clicks. (My readings say to expect 100,000 to 300,000 clicks on many camaeras.) I used a cool program on the laptop, and when I connected the camera, I got some good base data about it. I guess you could have guessed by the sign and clutter I was in a pawn shop.
