Peter's tower
Today we walked from Exmouth along the Exe estuary to Lympstone, a village full of grade 2 listed cottages. This is Peter's tower, built in 1885 by William Peters in memory of his wife, Mary Jane. It is now let out as self catering accommodation and is on 4 floors, so vertical living but the views must be good. William Peters, an army gentleman had the 400 acre estate of Harefield, in the parish of Lympstone settled on him by his father, a wealthy Liverpool merchant.
