Gortnakilla Loop
Another loop walk ticked off the list.
The Gortnakilla loop runs steeply up from the north side of the Sheep's Head peninsula following an old mass path and then turning west along the ridge to 'Windy Gap' which today, as usual, lived up to its name. Then down an old 'Board of Works' road, constructed to transport turf (peat) from the cuttings at the top. Rough going, but great views in all directions.
This is blip No. 365. A somewhat arbitrary anniversary since my first blip was actually in April 2013, much more than a year ago. No doubt there will be more gaps along the way ahead - who knows?
