Up early to a misty and cool morning, we delayed our trip to Dubia until some of the mist had lifted.

An interesting drive through on excellent roads. The date tree highway changed as we entered Dubia to the barron sands until you reach closer to the city centre.

There are cars everywhere, Eco son was loving all these very sporty cars and was rattling of the names as they passed us.

Eco sister had booked us into a hotel that is part of the chain she works for. It was very posh. When we got our room numbers 3120, I thought that is a lot of rooms, but no we were on the 31st floor. To get there we entered a glass lift which gave great views, not that I looked.

All around was tower blocks and I started singing from my youth.

I was hot so we headed off to the cool mall to meet up with Eco sister's pal Bea.

The mall was huge and the air conditioning made it a pleasant atmosphere. The eco girls shopped as eco son and I sat and people watched.

There was a display of sports cars in one area which Eco son took great delight in photographing and looking at. He has an unhealthy knowledge of these fast sporty cars.

The mall is below the highest building in the world, it has changed it's name to the Abu Dhabi leaders name after he bailed Dubia out after the credit crunch. Hope to see RBS headquarters renamed soon to Taxpayer's Palace...

At six o'clock the dancing fountains came on. They are the largest in the world and are quite impressive. They filled the air with water which helped cool the temp.
They are seemingly based on the Las Vegas fountains.

We headed for some Arabic food under the guidance of Bea, it was superb and everyone enjoyed it. Bea is a great character and the kids really liked her. The fountain displays kept going all evening every hour.

What lovely day rounded off with Bea buying the kids loads of sweets. We retired back to the hotel for sleep.
