Organizationally Challenged

I consider myself a fairly organized person but I have to admit, I am becoming a little stressed about getting my photos organized. Until I joined blip, I had my photos in iPhoto where they were organized by date, events, albums, faces etc. Since joining blip, I am taking many more photos and seem to be accumulating a bit of junk. I am using Lightroom, (so bypassing iPhoto) but also have available to me some cloud storage capabilities, iCloud, Dropbox, Smugmug and Flickr and I have an external hard drive for backup. I guess I am curious as to how others approach this in terms of culling, tagging, and filing and the software used to do this. There are so many options, I am a bit overwhelmed. I am looking for a simple system.

I thought about posting this question on the forums, but figured it might be best to start here with my own friendly blippers. While there is a lot of great information on the forums, I have found that some of the people can be a bit testy.

This is my spice rack, obviously… and yes they are alphabetized. :-)
