Nude Descending a Staircase.

After Marcel Duchamp.

I commented a while ago about reverential attitudes towards art and my view was to let it have a life and possibly death. Then coincidentally I thought about Duchamp and his very relaxed treatment of the art object. Like when his glass piece (now in Tate Britain) 'The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even' was transported to New York in the 40s I think, the glass panels he had painted on all cracked. But instead of freaking out that his masterpiece was ruined he shrugged his shoulders and decided that he liked the new look and it should remain broken.
Not long after, he stopped creating new art and played chess with Man Ray instead.
