"the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire..."

today could have started better,
and then slowly turned into an average day at work,
until around 1pm when the fire alarm went off in the building we were painting,
but it was a false alarm.
Six and a half hours later, when those of us still there go to clock out,
we are greeted by a ton of firemen and emergency vehicles surrounding the building next door; the one we clock in and out at.
i have no idea how extensive the damage is,
vehicles were still arriving and firemen just starting to get on the roof as i was leaving.

i wonder if we're going to have to repaint it...
