Stanage Edge Millstones

Unfortunately yesterdays weather could not be sustained and the day was spent under heavy cloud with flat lighting.
Morning spent in Padley Gorge and afternoon on Stanage Edge. these millstones are all that remain of a once thriving industry providing millstones to mills throughout the country. once an alternate process was found the industry collapsed and the millstones were simply left where they lay.
