In search of a bit of colour

Yesterday was sunny with a cloudless sky. I even spotted a ladybird. My heart soared as I finally saw the indicators that spring was well and truly on its way.

I awoke this morning and after rubbing my eyes, I had a double-take moment as I was confronted with 6" of snow everywhere. The roads had not been gritted and so today has been spent doing some spring cleaning and varnishing my wonderful new bookcase.

I am desperate to see some vibrant colours and so resorted to photographing my rubberband ball. Many thanks to @trojanargus on Twitter for giving me some very useful tips for when taking macro shots. Much appreciated, Bob!
