Ho Chi Minh ... a city of Mopeds!

We arrived in Ho Chi Minh this afternoon. Got a cab from the airport, checked into our hotel then went to explore. We had read that crossing the road was fun ... this pic is what you face every time you cross the road. Complete and utter moped madness! You just have to find a little gap, look them in the eye and walk and they seem to manage to avoid you ... we will get used to it I'm sure. Constant horns honking at each other to let others know they are there. Luckily they don't encourage tourists to drive here and thank goodness our hotel room is not facing the street.

The people here seem lovely and city is buzzing and vibrant with lots of parks and open spaces as well as the chaos.

There was a horrendous storm tonight. We sheltered in a bus shelter for a while with some other people before the worst passed then made it to a coffee shop for a bit of respite. All dried up later though and we went for dinner at a nice little place. It is so cheap here even though you are spending hundreds of thousands of dong. It will take a while to get used to the money too.

A few beers watching the world go by then bed. Hello Vietnam.
