Te Anau Ghost Town
Up and at em at 10 a.m. to check out of hostel 1. We were going to be spending the next two days in Te Anau and Dunedin but would be back to my beloved Queenstown on Sunday. The drive to Te Anau was really pretty about 4 hours long and we saw lots of sheep. However Te Anau was such a creepy town. It's very dead because it's in the middle of no where, but its the closest place you can stay to see the Milford Sound which is one of the South Island's most amazing places. The Milford Sound is about an hour away so if you wanted to catch the early tour, staying in Te Anau is the best bet. It was honestly like a ghost town there, even our hostel. We were just ready to sleep and check out in the morning to go see the Milford Sound and head to Dunedin.
