West from Mull Head

Today started quite grey but it soon brightened up and was sunny and warm for most of the day. Out to Deerness to look for migrants heading south. Plenty of geese in the air, mainly greylags, and lots of golden plover. A couple of knot were a new bird for me in the area. I thought a distant bird of prey to be a female merlin but the fuzzy shots made me think it might be something else- I posted the images to an RSPB warden here and will see what he thinks. More here.
