The day that Orkney Ferries forgot

A slow start this morning, or rather this afternoon. An American football overdose yesterday that stretched to four o'clock in the morning was the primary cause.

I was stirred far earlier than I would have preferred due to a call to cover the bus driving which, in my stupor, I managed to agree to. Then I went back to bed.

I finally thought that it was high time that I work out when the evening boat arrives. I made the assumption that, as the Summer timetable expired on the 28th, that the winter timetable would now apply. When checked, however, it transpired that the Winter timetable doesn't start until the 30th. I am guessing that they'll just turn up when they fancy it. Or, indeed, not even bother.

I had to to check up on the AIS maritime radar to deduce that a ship was on it's way and calculated that, given it's current position, it was a good hour away. In order to bide the time effectively, I took a rubbish sack onto the beach to bag some bruck.

On my travels, I found this monster wellie. Apparently, there's a website for lost footwear. The alternative is to search for a hopping giant in a sock.
