River-mouth
This is the river-mouth of the South Galson river, taken from North Galson. You can see the storm-beach of boulders slung across the river. Depending on the time of year, the storm-beach changes - sometimes fully across, and sometimes with the river cutting a deep channel through it. The bathymetric survey boat is offshore again. The green field on the left is the 'pairc gainmeach' (sand park) which buries a complete Norse village waiting to be excavated. This was an early landing site of the Vikings.
