Picnic time

Our doggy picnic was deferred to today, and what a beautiful autumn day it was. We went to Southey Wood, where the picnic tables are only a short walk from the car. Rosie enjoyed her apple cake and had a small potter round before settling down happily in a shady spot where she could keep an eye on everything that was going on. I sat with her and just enjoyed the peace of the woodland glade. Her appetite has certainly recovered, and she's now started grooming herself again. The only thing that bothers her is the anaemia, which makes her rather tired and breathless.

Only three of us made it to the picnic, as Alex and Ben were accidentally locked out last night and didn't get to bed until 7.30am. They'd arrived home from a friend's house a couple of hours earlier, but didn't want to ring the doorbell in case they woke us. I eventually got a text at 7.25am, asking whether I was awake, and would I let them in. It was a good job it was a warm, dry night!!
