Tooth Fairy
I started the day with an early day of baseball practice & errands. After all of this, I decided to meet a friend with our kids and see the movie Tooth Fairy. I don't go out to see many movies anymore that are not 'kid movies' since having little ones. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I laughed at this movie today.
The movie inspired my Blip of the Day. I've collected many 'make me smile' memories of the Tooth Fairy nights...since we've had quite a lot of visits from this special fairy over the years. There have been nights that she (or he) has bumped into Santa Clause or was just so busy she couldn't make it on the first night. One time she didn't even make it on the second night---so she had a lot of explaining to do with a special letter that time around. That was the time she left extra money for the long wait; kind of like accrued interest. We have acquired various 'tooth-holding' devices to make extra sure that the tooth is kept safe until the fairy makes her appearance.
My favorite memory, however, was the note my oldest son Loren left for her a couple years ago. Him and his brother had gotten bunk beds, so he left the Tooth Fairy a note telling her which bed to find the "Lost Tooth Kid". He also left her a note that night saying "Sign Here". He said he wanted to compare her signature with that of his mom's signature, just to be certain that his mom wasn't the Tooth Fairy. That tricky little guy! She did sign his note that night...with even a tooth drawn at the end of the 'y' in Fairy.
