What a day!

Up at 6 for the 3 hour drive to Kelchalm - just south of Kitzbühel, in the Kitzbühel Alps.

Dropped our big rucksack (with all the overnight stuff in it) at the Hütte. Then off up the hill. 2 hours later, lunch at the Torsee 2,000m up. Glorious spot for a picnic. Bread, ham, cheese & grapes.

Then a really tough climb to the summit of Gamshag - 2,178 m (7,145 ft). Rough and steep, hot and sweaty, but worth it for the views at the top (one of which is the Blip).

Then along the ridge you see in the Blip to the next peak Teuffelssprung (Devils’ Leap). Any extra effort at that height gets you really out of breath.

Back down after that. A 6 hour outing. Exhausted.

Revived (slightly) by a lovely evening in the Hütte- great food, plenty to drink and a great atmosphere.
