THON 2010 kicked off tonight.

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon supports the Four Diamonds fund, which helps pay the costs of pediatric cancer treatment to alleviate the burden on families with children affected by cancer. Last year, over $7 million was collected through various fundraisers and "canning" trips where student organizations ask for donations in their hometowns.

This year, NOTA performed at the kick-off ceremony with a medley of kid's TV show theme songs from my childhood up through today. It was a ton of fun. After that, I spent the next few hours photographing the event for photojournalism class.

This is Alison. She's 5 and she was diagnosed with cancer last year.
