A bridge too far!
I seem to have discovered a new interest in bridges.(Pontourism?) Following on from the blip of the town's oldest bridge, this is its newest. Opened only a few weeks ago it links the village of Maro with the Caves of Nerja - a magnificent series of underground chambers dating from the Upper Paleolithic era. Oddly enough it took us ages to find this bridge despite its scale - it was too big to get all of it in one frame - but the search took us through avocado plantations, past the disused sugar refinery and on to the top of the aqueduct I blipped on Thursday. All on a beautiful sunny day.
This looks as though it was inspired by the Guggenheim - a very non-vernacular style for Andalucia but dramatic in its location. You walk up the ramp which spirals round on itself three times before reaching the bridge which is suspended over the motorway.
