Posting this image with a pano for documentary reasons - not claiming any photographic merit!

Over recent weeks we have been slowly clearing this area at the end of our house. It used to be shaded by a huge Cedar tree that fell in the storms in February.

We had a digger in to clear the stump of the tree and it's now buried somewhere under here.

I have removed literally thousands of evil Montbretia corms, carried loads of stones onto what is now a boundary 'ditch' and raked over nearly two-thirds of the area. Plus, very large slices of the tree have been stacked and some split.

We plan to have this area as an 'orchard'. It will need to be strimmed regularly to remove the unwanted growth of nettles and any Montbretia remaining but it has been transformed already.
