Freemasons' Hall
A detail of the ornate Venetian-Gothic styling of Freemasons' Hall, Lewes. The building was completed in 1868, replacing the earlier structure that dated from 1797.
Amusingly, two airbricks added later to the façade, have been painted to resemble the red bricks used in the intricate pattern, although purists would no doubt say they stick out like sore thumbs!
Nevertheless, a striking Victorian building.
