Life's tangled skein

Stirling

If I lived in Stirling, I might be a nationalist. The proximity to the history in the placetown - you can almost feel it - could easily turn me to the separatist cause. Though of course the more you learn about these battles, the more it seems that it was about sectarianism, or aristocrats vying for position, rather than anything to do with nationalism.

Anyway, the people responsible for Stirling's street decorations seem to be being careful to read a fine line in this referendum, displaying bunting of both the Scottish flag and the UK flags.

Given the increasingly tense atmosphere, that's probably a Good Thing.
