Garden dilemma
My dilemma is how best to tackle this unseemly crop of weeds which are spreading rapidly across the public parking area on the outside of my back garden fence.
Easy, if the weeds were originating my side of the fence – a strimmer and a liberal dose of weedkiller should do the trick. The dilemma is that the weeds are not my side of the fence, and I am desperate to see they do not start heading in the opposite direction and through the fence into the garden.
Trouble is I need to see that the fence is in good order before winter winds and beating rain weaken it. We have seen on several occasions the fence taking a beating by vehicles backing into it, and we know the upright posts now need strengthening.
But those weeds must go. Should I sneak out one night into the parking area with my watering can and a strong dose of weedkiller? I’m tempted . . .
