Sunbathing bouquetin.
A really close encounter with a male bouquetin/ibex.What a walk we had on our Friday training for Nepal. We managed to climb the Grand Muveran (3,051m) and get down in time ( 1 minute to spare) to catch the chairlift back to the car. We saw about 10 of these huge males, this one seems to be 17 years old if you count the rings on his horns. There were also several females with young, below the Rambert hut. But the most surprising was a sighting of 2 ptarmigan which I have not seen for over 30 years! Am I happy, yes! Not just because we had a great meal afterwards to top the day off. Hope you have all had a great day too.
5 more photos of this wonderful day! The drying crocs outside the hut is my favourite!
