It's school holidays and grandson Cody and his mate Ethan arrived by bus in Rotorua this afternoon, complete with bike and fishing rod! They spent the afternoon fishing from the jetty where Ian was working on the boat and Ethan was well rewarded with this rather nice rainbow trout....boy was he happy, such a great start to the holidays.

It was very quickly filleted, and the colour of the flesh showed what a good little fish it was, the boys are going to cook it for lunch tomorrow.

No doubt they will be spurred on by this to put in more hours and see what else they get. Although boat fishing is closed on this lake until next Wednesday, year round fishing from parts of the shoreline are allowed.
