Sachs Mill Bridge
This bridge is located just to the South of Gettysburg. Before the battle, Union infantry crossed this bridge to pursue the Confederates, and after the battle, most of Lee's army would retreat across this bridge. A few days after the Confederates crossed the bridge, three Confederate deserters were found by Union troops and were hung by the rafters of this bridge. For a little covered bridge over a little creek, Sachs Mill Bridge saw a lot of action. It is also on the nation’s top 10 most haunted places with paranormal activity. So when we went to Gettysburg to see some of the less known things, Sachs Mill Bridge was close to the top of our list. I would like to take this time to say that I do not believe in ghosts. I believe the whole ghost hunting business and ghost tours are simply a con-man’s way of making money. With that said, I will also say that I have experienced some weird things in my lifetime, some that I cannot explain, but until a ghost walks up to me and says “Hi Mark,” I keep to my beliefs that they do not exist. When we went to the bridge, I was still under this belief, but found myself wondering why it felt a lot cooler there. Before I crossed the bridge, I took this picture. I saw a lot of the fog in the view screen of my digital camera, so I started checking everything to see what was wrong with the camera. Truthfully, I didn’t find anything wrong so I took a second picture without even cleaning my lens. No fog. The whole time I was there something felt off, but still, nobody came up to me and said “Hi Mark!”
