R W Forsyth's

In town this afternoon I was walking along Gordon Street towards Central Station and was reminded of my childhood view of the department store R W Forsyth. The store opened in 1872 and traded in the same site until 1983 when it moved briefly to Sauchiehall Street and the premises of Trerons. It seems strange now to see that the building is now a thriving branch of Gregg the bakers - such is progress!
